How we write our guides

Every guide starts from one specific situation, is drafted with the help of writing tools, and is then rewritten, checked and tested by a person before it's published. We date every guide and update it when something changes.

Our process

1. Pick one specific situation people search for help with.
2. Research what people in that situation ask and where they get stuck.
3. Draft the structure and scripts, using writing tools for first drafts.
4. Rewrite and check every page by hand. Nothing is published unedited.
5. Mark clearly what is our method, what is opinion and what comes from outside sources.
6. Review and update on a schedule, with the date shown on every guide.

Limits

Our guides don't replace professional help. For health, safety, legal or financial situations, we tell you to see a qualified professional.

If you find a mistake, write to hello@thefixguides.com. We fix it and note the change on the guide.
